Frequently Asked Questions

How can I get help?

If you are looking to enter the Teen Challenge rehab programme, you will need to complete an application form. (Depending on which centre you require). You can download all application forms by clicking this link. Once the application form has been completed, please fax it to the respective centre, or post it to the address of the centre. 

Is there an age limit?

Can I Detox at your centres?

Not all our centres have detox facilities. Challenge House and Hope House have a medical detox programme running.

Do you accept people with different life controlling problems/Mental health?

Generally all individuals who are addicted to life controlling problems will be accepted pending an interview and GP reports. Teen Challenge is open to assist all who are able to function in a residential setting. We are not able to accept those who are using anti-psychcotic medications.

How long is the Programme?

The programme lasts for 12 months and is split into 3 levels. After completion, a further 4th level is taken which is a re-entry level, intergrating residents back into society while still under the covering of Teen Challenge or any other authorised body.

How much does it cost?

It costs Teen Challenge £533 per week to house a resident. For someone who comes into our programmes, we ask them to find sponsors to help cover some of the costs during their stay at Teen Challenge. Any benefits that they are on will also contribute towards the living costs.

Does the applicant need to be willing to do the programme?

Yes. Teen Challenge is a voluntary programme.

What is the re-entry proceedure?

For whatever reason a resident has left the Programme, a minimum of 4 weeks must pass before they can re-apply for the Programme.

How long is the waiting list?

The waiting list can change from week to week. Normally between 8 - 12 Weeks.

What is your Success rate?

Our Success rate is approx 80%. These figures are based on residents who have graduated the programme and have stayed away from life controlling problems for 5 years.

Do you have any drop-in Centres?

Yes.  We have 14 drop-in centres around the UK. You can click on this link and check which one is nearest to you.

Do you use a methadone programme?

No. We do not use methadone. We use dehydrocodiene under the supervision of private health care. 

Am I allowed to keep my benefits?

No. When you agree to join the programme, any benefits you are on are used to help support you during the programme.

Am I allowed any personal effects?

Any personal effects brought in with you, such as MP3 players, Ipods, Moblie Phones etc., are placed in secure storage.
